Engineering Solutions to Noise and Vibration Problems

Chris Page

Chris joined NCE in September 2012. He has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. As a graduate student, he was a research assistant in the Structural Dynamics and Acoustic System Laboratory and his research was sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) University Laboratory Initiative (ULI). As part of his research, Chris worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport and studied the use of distributed tuned vibration absorbers for controlling resonant vibrations of underwater structures. At Umass-Lowell, Chris also gained experience in experimental modal testing, structural dynamic modeling techniques and test analysis correlation. Chris previous employment includes time as a mechanical engineer at Raytheon and a transducer design intern at Bose Corporation.

Since joining NCE, Chris has worked on numerous projects including: sea trials for a NOAA research vessel, analysis and selection of vibration isolation mounts for shipboard equipment and developing a tool for predicting hearing loss and the disability costs of military service men and women.
